How to sell on Vinted step by step — listing, shipping and the limits
How do you sell on Vinted step by step?
Press „Sprzedaj" (sell), add up to 20 photos, a title, a detailed description, a category, a brand, a condition and a price, then confirm the parcel size. Listing costs nothing — Vinted puts it plainly: „Sprzedawanie na Vinted nic nie kosztuje, więc możesz wystawić tyle przedmiotów, ile chcesz" (selling on Vinted costs nothing, so you can list as many items as you want). You only pay if you choose to promote a listing yourself.
A note on button names. Vinted's interface is in Polish, so this article keeps the original labels („Sprzedaj", „Bez marki", „Pobierz etykietę wysyłkową") and glosses them in English. An English translation would not help you find them on the page. Every fact here was checked against Vinted's Polish help centre on 18 September 2026 — this is a platform that changes its rules without notice, so treat them as true on that day, not as permanent.
Before you list your first item
Two things are worth doing first, because you cannot undo them later.
First, activate your Portfel Vinted (Vinted wallet) — without it you cannot collect the money from your first sale. Exactly when it arrives is covered in a separate article: Kiedy Vinted wypłaca pieniądze za sprzedaż, which is in Polish.
Second, open Profil > Ustawienia > Wysyłka (profile > settings > shipping). Under „Nadanie paczki po sprzedaży" (sending the parcel after a sale) you choose „Z domu" (from home) or „W punkcie nadania" (at a drop-off point), and toggles decide which carriers you offer buyers. This is the only moment you have any say in it — we come back to that in the printer section.

Step 1. Photos
Vinted accepts up to 20 photos per listing. It does not publish a minimum anywhere in the Polish help centre, so we do not suggest one here — you will see it in the form itself.
The editorial rules are documented in detail, though: the first photo has to show the whole item, do not make collages, use your own photos (no stock or watermarked images), shoot in daylight „bez lampy błyskowej ani filtrów" (no flash, no filters) so the real colours come through — and do not hide defects.
Step 2. Title and description
The title should carry specifics: brand, colour, type, distinguishing features. Vinted gives its own example of a good title — „Nowa krótka różowa sukienka wieczorowa Zara" (new short pink Zara evening dress) — and a bad one: „Bardzo ładna sukienka" (very pretty dress).
In the description, list the flaws. Vinted even supplies the list: scuffs or marks, stains, holes or tears, missing parts, broken zips, smells, modifications, stretching or shrinkage, fading or discolouration. We found no character limits in the help centre, so we are not inventing any — the form shows you a counter.
One trap that is easy to miss: the description and hashtags must not mention any brand other than the one picked in the brand field. Vinted warns it will „ukryć lub usunąć" (hide or remove) such listings. So no „similar to Zara" on an unbranded top.
Step 3. Category, brand, materials
If an item has no brand, there is a „Bez marki" (no brand) option at the bottom of the suggested-brand list. You can pick at most three materials in the form — Vinted asks you to mention the rest in the description.
There is also a duplicates ban: you may not list more than one identical item. If you have three of the same T-shirt, you make one listing and say so in the description.
Step 4. Item condition
There are six values:
- „Nowy" (new) — completely new, unused and unopened, with complete original packaging and all accessories.
- „Jak nowy" (like new) — new and unused, but opened or without the original packaging.
- „Bardzo dobry" (very good) — barely used, with minor imperfections.
- „Dobry" (good) — regularly used, with some signs of wear, still functional.
- „Zadowalający" (satisfactory) — frequently used, with clear signs of wear.
- „Wymaga naprawy" (needs repair) — for electronic devices only.
Vinted supplies its own tie-breaker: „Jeśli nie masz pewności, który stan wybrać, lepiej zdecyduj się na gorszy stan" (if you are unsure which condition to pick, go with the worse one). The reason is practical — if the condition is overstated the buyer can cancel the order or return the item, and Vinted reserves the right to hide listings with the wrong condition.
Step 5. Price
The price has to fall between 1 zł and 130 thousand zł. Vinted suggests bands based on condition:
| Condition | Suggested % of retail price |
|---|---|
| „Nowy", „Jak nowy" | 60–80% |
| „Bardzo dobry" | 40–60% |
| „Dobry", „Zadowalający" | 20–40% |
That is Vinted's recommendation, not a measurement of the market — the real price depends on what comparable items actually sell for. The platform adds two hints: a price below the catalogue average improves the chance of a quick sale, and out-of-season items are worth discounting.
Bear in mind too that a buyer can offer you less — how that mechanism works and what its cap is, we covered in Vinted „Zaproponuj cenę" — jak negocjować, which is in Polish.
Step 6. Parcel size and publishing
Vinted suggests a parcel size, but verifying it after packing is on you. If the packed item exceeds the size or weight limits of the available shipping options, it cannot be listed at all.
Once published, the listing goes through an automated check. Here Vinted contradicts itself: one help page says „około 1 minuty" (about 1 minute), in some cases „do 3 lub 4 dni" (up to 3 or 4 days), another says „około 30 minut" (about 30 minutes) and „do 2 dni" (up to 2 days). We give both, because we have no grounds to pick one.
What does selling on Vinted cost?
Listing itself is free and unlimited. The Ochrona Kupujących (buyer protection) fee is charged to the buyer, not to you — exactly how much it comes to is worked out in Ochrona Kupujących na Vinted — ile kosztuje, which is in Polish. It matters to you only in that it raises what the buyer actually pays for your item.
Two optional services are paid:
- „Podbicie" (bump) — lifts a single listing for 3 or 7 days (or until it sells). It comes in a domestic and an international version, one per listing at a time. You may lower a bumped item's price but not raise it, and you get no refund of the difference.
- „Ekspozycja" (formerly „Sugerowane Oferty") — promotes your whole profile for 7 consecutive days, showing at most 15 highlighted listings. It requires at least 5 listings on the account.
Neither has a published price list in złoty. Vinted writes that the „odpowiednia opłata zostanie podana w momencie dokonywania płatności" (the applicable fee will be shown at the moment of payment), and that it depends on the item's price, the length of the bump and its reach; for „Ekspozycja", on the number of listings and their combined value. You only see the amount in the order summary, so we quote no figure here.
Shipping: do you actually need a printer?
Most new sellers ask this, and the answer is "partly no", not "no". Before the carriers, three facts that have to be put together:
- The buyer picks and pays for the carrier, not you.
- After the sale you can no longer change the carrier, the label type („do wydrukowania" — to print, or „cyfrowa" — digital), the address or the parcel size. The only route is cancelling and re-placing the order.
- Your only lever is narrowing the list in advance under Profil > Ustawienia > Wysyłka — and even that is incomplete.
So this is about improving your odds, not a guarantee.
Which carriers do not need a printer
As of 18 September 2026, Vinted's Polish help pages describe it like this:
| Carrier | Printer needed |
|---|---|
| InPost (parcel locker / point) | No — „Etykieta cyfrowa" is offered: a unique QR code and a 9-digit code, available only for shipments within Poland |
| InPost Kurier (door to door) | Yes — this service requires the „Etykieta do wydrukowania" |
| DHL | No — only a drop-off code is generated, which you enter at the machine or show at the point |
| DHL Express | No — an „Etykieta cyfrowa" scanned at the parcel point |
| DPD | The help page tells you to download and print the label; it gives no digital option |
| Poczta Polska / Pocztex | The help page tells you to print the label at home |
| GLS | The help page tells you to download and print the label |
| ORLEN Paczka | The help page tells you to create the label, print it and stick it on; it gives no digital option |
That last row is the one that surprises people most — many sellers are convinced a code is enough at ORLEN Paczka. We are reporting what Vinted's help page says on 18 September 2026, and we are not claiming the app does not behave differently; if you see a digital option there, trust the app.
With InPost's digital label there is one more obligation that is easy to forget: the 9-digit drop-off code has to be written on the parcel in permanent marker so it can be identified.
What you cannot get around
Switching carriers off in settings has two limits Vinted states outright: some options cannot be disabled (their toggles are greyed out), and a disabled option may still show to a buyer if it is the only one that lets them buy. On top of that the platform pushes the opposite strategy — „Im więcej opcji wysyłki zaoferujesz, tym większe prawdopodobieństwo szybkiej sprzedaży" (the more shipping options you offer, the more likely a quick sale). A narrower list has a real cost in buyers.
And if you get a printable label and have no printer? Vinted suggests asking at the drop-off point, at a friend's, or at an office, library or stationery shop — but it ends unambiguously: if you have no access to a printer, you have to cancel the order. Whether any Polish drop-off point will in fact print a label on the spot is confirmed nowhere, so we do not promise it.
Cancelling has a price: Vinted warns of an automatic negative review, and sending a parcel without a label generated through them can end in the order being cancelled and the buyer refunded. The only mitigation — tell the buyer before you cancel.
After the sale
Once the item is bought, „Pobierz etykietę wysyłkową" (download the shipping label) appears in the conversation, and you have 5 working days to send the parcel. The whole delivery sequence, including what happens if you miss that deadline, is covered in Przesyłka Vinted — kto płaci, ile czeka i co gdy paczka nie wyszła, which is in Polish. It is also worth photographing the item and the packed parcel before sending — Vinted recommends this itself.
Selling as a business — start here, not with tax law
This question usually gets either a flat "no" or an immediate lecture on income tax and DAC7. Neither answers what you actually want to know.
The position is this: commercial selling on Vinted is allowed only for Vinted Pro sellers. And Poland — as of 18 September 2026 — is not listed among the Vinted Pro countries on either Polish help page. What is more, two help pages give two different country lists (one eight, the other eleven) and neither includes Poland; that disagreement is precisely why we date-stamp this rather than writing "Vinted Pro does not exist in Poland". Vinted reserves the right to make the service available in other countries as part of testing, and says it will announce a launch in advance. The page at vinted.pl/pro renders in English and asks for a French SIRET number — the strongest hint that the Polish Pro route simply has not launched.
For a standard account there is a rule that is unambiguous and in force in Poland today: „Nie zezwalamy standardowym użytkownikom na dodawanie przedmiotów, których sprzedaż jest w założeniu komercyjna" (we do not allow standard users to list items whose sale is commercial by design). Vinted names the signals it uses to spot this — among them a very high number of transactions or very high income, many new items, the same category or brand in many colours and sizes, dropshipping, phrasings like „można zamówić" (can be ordered) or „obecnie brak na stanie" (currently out of stock), photos taken from the internet or a stock library, and the simple fact of holding a legal status that permits commercial sales and selling as part of that business. The list, it notes, is not exhaustive.
The consequences: listings hidden or removed, or the account blocked — temporarily (for example 7 days) or permanently. A decision can be appealed within 6 months, but only once.
Two things in the margin: services are banned on Vinted outright (rental, made-to-order items, personalisation), and handmade goods have a narrow carve-out — a small number of unique items is allowed if they are the result of occasional activity.
Tax is a separate subject and we do not settle it here — Vinted runs its own Polish page „DAC7 – co należy wiedzieć", and where a real business is involved the conversation belongs with an accountant, not with a guide to listing items.
Selling faster — without promising miracles
Vinted publishes its own list of methods and we stick to it, because no "sell 3× faster" claim can be counted honestly:
- Bundle discounts („Zniżki na zestawy") — free, set in your profile. The bigger the discount, the more willing someone is to buy more than one item from you.
- An offer to people who liked an item — when someone likes an item or asks about it, you can propose a price yourself.
- Adding items regularly — followers get notified about new listings and about price drops.
- Better listings — the same photos and descriptions covered above.
- Trust — a verified profile, a profile photo, a filled-in „O mnie" (about me) section.
- „Podbicie" or „Ekspozycja" — the only paid entries on this list.
What you will not find here: a "best hour to list" or percentage uplifts in views. We have neither a source nor a measurement of our own for those.
The most common beginner mistakes
- An overstated condition — the most expensive one, because it ends in a cancellation or a return. When unsure, go lower.
- Flaws left out of the description — they have to be both described and visible in the photos.
- Other brands in the description — risks the listing being hidden.
- Duplicates of the same item — one listing, the rest in the description.
- Guessing the parcel size — check after packing, not before.
- No active Portfel before the first sale.
If a buyer cancels before shipping, „Dodaj ponownie przedmiot" (list the item again) appears in the conversation — the listing comes back with its original photos and description, and a purchased „Podbicie" runs to its original expiry date.
And if you are wondering whether Vinted at all
Vinted wins on fashion, but not in every category — the comparison with the biggest Polish alternative is collected in Vinted czy OLX, which is in Polish.
Before you set a price, it is worth checking what comparable items actually go for. Dealmo searches listings across several marketplaces at once and shows you what is on sale today — a reference point for your own pricing.
